“SuperSoft SNUGLY” is what we call our super cuddly, 5 mm classic minky fabric! This soft minky fabric beige has a slightly furry look that makes it especially beautiful for sewing teddy bears, dogs, woodland animals and other realistic or natural-looking plushies. It’s also great for appliqué embroidery, where the fabric can mimic the fur of embroidered characters. Its longer pile gives handmade stuffed animals more visible texture than our short-pile SHORTY or smooth SQUISHY fabrics, while still being easy to sew and wonderfully soft to cuddle. That’s also why we focus our SNUGLY minky collection on natural and neutral shades like browns, beiges and greys – colors that are perfect for bringing all kinds of furry little creatures to life!

The color “latte” is a soft, light beige with a cool undertone, giving it a gentle and natural look. It’s a beautiful neutral for teddy bears, dogs, horses and other plush animals, and pairs especially well with cooler browns like our taupe or other earthy shades. We also like pairing it with our SuperSoft SHAGGY in “latte”, as the two different pile lengths and textures create beautiful effects when combined.

SNUGLY has more stretch than our SHORTY minky, allowing stuffed shapes to become soft and nicely rounded, but it is not nearly as stretchy as our SQUISHY mochi minky. If you are familiar with other classic cuddle minky like the Shannon C3 minky, SNUGLY has a similar plush look and pile length, but with a lighter, less bulky feel and more flexibility.

The plush fabric is a wonderful choice for sewing projects for babies and children, as it’s easy to clean, machine washable and dryer friendly. It is also produced according to international quality standards and independently tested for harmful substances. Made from 100% polyester microfiber, SNUGLY stays incredibly soft even after repeated washing, making it a great choice for plushies and blankets that are meant to be loved and cuddled for years.

About our “SuperSoft SNUGLY” minky fabric beige (latte)

SNUGLY is a single-sided, smooth minky fabric with a 5 mm pile length and a smooth knitted backing. At 400 gsm, the longer, dense pile gives it a wonderfully plush and fluffy feel without making the backing itself overly thick or stiff. This makes it easier to sew than many traditional teddy or sherpa fabrics while still creating that soft, furry appearance once sewn. It has moderate stretch – more than SHORTY but much less than SQUISHY – for soft, rounded shapes while still maintaining structure. Beyond stuffed animals, it’s also a cozy choice for blankets, pillows, pet accessories, costumes, jacket linings and scarves. SNUGLY is manufactured according to international quality standards and independently tested for harmful substances under European regulations (EN 71-3 / REACH).

Our plush fabrics are available as pre-cut fabric pieces only. For the SNUGLY minky fabric beige we currently offer a size of 39.5×29.5″ (100×75 cm). The dimensions correspond to a 20″ / 0.55 yard (0.5 m) piece of fabric with a width of about 60“ (1.5 m). The advantage of the pre-cut size is, however, that the fabric piece is more rectangular. This way you can easily make larger cuts from it, such as for baby blankets, pillows or parts for a jumpsuit.
