Meet the most adorable gang of ghouls you’ll ever stitch up! Our cute “Good Ghost Gang” is here to spook up your Halloween in the coziest way possible. Whether you’re sewing a squad of mini ghosts to haunt your shelves or cuddly pillow-sized phantoms to lounge on, these friendly little spirits are all about spreading charm – not chills! And the best thing is: our ghost pillow sewing pattern is FREE. You can download the PDF ghost pattern below, but make sure you browse our shop for some really fluffy or squishy fabrics!

The sewing pattern is one of the easiest Halloween sewing projects you will find on the internet. It contains three different ghost shapes. Each ghost comes in two sizes: size S is a plush toy sized ghost and size L is the pillow version. There are also different faces for the ghosts, so you can choose whether your ghost pillow or ghost plushie looks friendly or a little spookier. You will need about 1-2 hours to sew a ghost.

The faces of the ghosts are sewn on with the sewing machine and a double-sided iron-on adhesive webbing like Heat’n Bond, so you don’t need an embroidery machine! The pattern also includes svg cutting files for eyes and mouth so you can cut them out of HTV using a cutting machine like Cricut or Silhouette.

We also offer matching cutting files for the eyes and mouths of the ghosts. With these files, you can use your cutting machine (e.g., a Cricut or Silhoutte) to cut out the facial elements from a heat transfer vinyl (HTV) and then iron them onto your fabric.

Needed material for the ghost pillow sewing pattern

• Size S: fabric for ghost, approx. 10×20″ (25×50 cm)
• Size L: fabric for ghost pillow, approx. 35×22″ (90×55 cm)
• Optional, but recommended for size L: medium-weight fusible interfacing to reinforce the fabric, approx. 35×22″ (90×55 cm)
• Black felt or other non-fraying fabric for the eyes and mouth
• Double-sided iron-on adhesive webbing (e.g. Heat’n Bond)
• Fiber fill, 0.1 lbs (30 g) for size S and 0.7 lbs (300 g) for size L

The larger ghosts (size L) are intended as a pillows for resting and cuddling. In order to get a nice, flat surface and to avoid dents from the filling, we recommend pressing a medium-weight fusible interfacing onto the ghost fabric before cutting. This means you only need a small amount of fiber fill and you get a flat, even surface. For the eyes and mouth, it is best to use a non-fraying fabric such as felt or short-pile minky fabric so that you can sew them on with a straight stitch.

We used our SuperSoft SHORTY minky fabric for our ghost gang as well as our super stretchy mochi minky fabric SuperSoft SQUISHY. Just imagine a ghost pillow as squishy as the squishmallows you know from the store – this is exactly what you get when using our mochi minky for the ghost pillow sewing pattern or the small ghost plushies! Or what about a really really fluffy ghost made from our SuperSoft SHAGGY faux fur in ivory? As the pile length of this fake fur is only 20 mm, it is perfect for a fuzzy ghost friend!

By the way: Who says a ghost always has to be white? We love our pink ghosts and they are the cutest “girly” Halloween decoration in our daughter’s room!
