BOBBY BOOTY is super easy to sew, making it a fun project for beginners and experienced sewists alike. The big bunny feet attach with snap fasteners, so they’re removable. The little paw pads are appliquéd with your sewing machine — and don’t worry, our step-by-step video tutorial will guide you through the whole process!

TIP: Want the feet to stay in place permanently? Instead of using snaps, you can sew them directly onto the pillow at the marked points. Just attach them through their turning openings before closing up the pillow.

What you need to sew the bunny pillow

• Fabric for the pillow and feet, approx. 40×30″ (100×75 cm) or 20×60″ (50×150 cm)
• Fabric for the paw pads, approx. 6×14″ (15×35 cm)
• Fabric for the fluffy tail, approx. 7×7″ (18×18 cm)
• Double-sided, iron-on adhesive webbing (e.g., Heat’n Bond)
• Optional: stabilizer & water-soluble embroidery film
• Hand embroidery floss or strong thread to attach the tail
• Snap fasteners, 6 pairs
• Matching thread for appliquéing the paw pads
• Fiberfill stuffing, approx. 1.1 lbs (500 g)
• Optional: medium-weight, iron-on interfacing (for extra stability if using thinner fabrics)

The best fabrics for your bunny butt pillow

For the best results, we recommend using slightly stretchy plush fabrics, as they adapt beautifully to the round pillow shape. If you want extra fluff, go for our SuperSoft SHAGGY long-pile plush—especially for that cute little bunny tail! If you prefer a shorter plush, our SuperSoft SHORTY minky is a great choice, or use our super stretchy mochi fabrics to make an extra squishy bunny butt.

 

Using a thin fabric? No problem! Just iron fusible fleece or interfacing onto the back before cutting to prevent wrinkles and bumps in the finished pillow.
