What is shaggy minky fabric?
Shaggy minky fabric is a plush fabric made from long polyester microfibers knitted into a soft backing to create a fluffy pile. Unlike short minky, shaggy minky has a noticeably longer texture that gives plush toys, blankets and home décor extra softness and dimension.
Our SuperSoft SHAGGY is made from 100% polyester, making it soft, durable and easy to care for. The pile is long enough to look fluffy, but still manageable when sewing because it is not as bulky as classic fake fur – a great middle ground between standard minky fabric and extra long faux fur!
Because the fluffy fibers are only on one side, tracing pattern pieces and sewing fabric layers together is much easier than with double-sided fluffy materials.
