Meet our adorable “Dress Me Bestie” BETSY BEAR, a rag doll teddy bear made from our cut and sew doll fabric panel. In addition to the stuffed bear, there are 10 more small and large sewing projects included with the cut & sew panel. And as the name of the series suggests, it’s all about dressing up: you can sew a nice tunic for your teddy bear and combine it with shorts or a denim skirt. There is also a dress with a romantic floral pattern and matching headbands that can also be used as belts for the dress. Combine one of the two different crossbody bags to the outfits to make your teddy plushie look simply fabulous! The little teddy bear and a pot of honey are nice accessories when playing with the rag doll.
About the cut and sew doll fabric panel BETSY BEAR
The fabric piece on which the individual cloth doll pattern pieces are printed is 31×61″. A great deal, because your sewing machine will be busy for quite a while 🙂! The special thing about this panel: With cut & sew fabric panels, the various pattern pieces are already printed on the fabric. This means that you can cut out the parts directly along the given cutting lines and start sewing! The seam allowance is already included in all pattern pieces. Please note that compared to our other cut and sew panels, you should have some sewing experience for this panel! There are also instructions for the individual projects printed on the fabric, some illustrated in color.

First attempt for my nine year old
My daughter received a sewing machine for her birthday. I purchased this as an easy first item for her to sew. This was difficult and would’ve been undoable for her to do it on her own. It was very doable with assistance from an adult. I would recommend this as it kept her engaged and interested in this new craft for her. She found it to be fun and loved the final project. It will take a few different times to complete the entire project.

Good instructions
The print quality is very good and so are the instructions. The bear is much cuter with the various outfits on – the body itself is not particularly attractive. I’m a pretty experienced sewist and this took me a lot of hours to finish, in about a weekend. You will definitely need 1/4″ elastic, stuffing, thread, safety pin. Pinking shears are also recommended. A point turner is also helpful. Sewing the tiny curves and tiny hems requires great care. I really like all the details printed onto the clothing !
