Description
With the purchase of this paper pattern, you will receive a printed version of our sewing templates for the stuffed animals bunny, teddy bear, and elephant from our “Dress Me Bestie” series. The pattern sheet also includes matching doll clothes patterns for pants, a tunic/dress, a skirt, a hooded cape, a Velcro-closure shirt, socks, and lace-up shoes. For the facial elements, you can also download free matching embroidery files (for embroidery machines) or cutting files (for digital cutting machines) instead of sewing the face by hand or machine.
All pattern pieces come with 3 different seam allowance options and are printed on professional-grade paper with clear markings and precise cutting lines. The easy-to-follow, illustrated instructions are printed on the pattern sheet and can be cut out and folded into a handy booklet.
About the “Dress Me Bestie” sewing templates for stuffed animals
“Dress Me Bestie” is the name of our sewing pattern series that’s all about dressing self-sewn cuddly friends. Teddy bear BETSY, elephant EDDY, and bunny BIBBY are 16 inches (40 cm) from head to toe – and you can sew matching clothes and fun accessories for all of them. Best of all, everything is interchangeable between the characters! To sew the stuffed animals, you should have a bit of sewing experience and plan for about 2–3 hours per project.
What makes our Dress Me Bestie sewing templates special: Compared to many other plush toy sewing patterns, Dress Me Besties are quick and easy to sew. The arms and legs are built into the body pattern piece, so there’s no need to cut or sew tiny parts! The ears are also part of the head pattern and don’t need to be attached separately. You can sew the entire plushie with a sewing machine – no hand sewing required. That makes them especially sturdy and safe for younger children.
- Sewing time: 2-3 hours per stuffed animal
- Difficulty level: simple
Embroidery patterns for the stuffed animal templates
Our Dress Me Besties are perfect for embroidery machine users! A download link is printed on the paper pattern, giving you access to free embroidery files for the facial elements – so you can stitch the faces instead of sewing them by hand or with a sewing machine.
The embroidery files for the elephant and bunny fit a 4×4″ hoop (10×10 cm). For the bear, there are two versions: one with just the face (fits a 4×4″ hoop) and one with the face and ears (fits a 5×7″ hoop / 13×18 cm). All files come in the following formats: DST, EDR, EXP, HUS, INF, JEF, JEF+, PCS, PES, TAP, VIP, VP3, and XXX.
Cutting files for the stuffed animals’s faces
If you have a digital cutting machine like a Cricut or Silhouette, you can download SVG cutting files for the stuffed animals eyes, nose and inner ears. These let you create iron-on vinyl patches using HTV instead of sewing the elements by hand or as sewing machine appliqués. Files are provided in .DXF, .SVG, .JPG, and .PNG formats.
What’s included in these printed sewing templates for stuffed animals:
