About the teddy bear sewing pattern
A teddy bear should not be missing in any children’s room or nursery, so here’s the kullaloo pattern for the classic among the cuddly toys: teddy bear JOSHI. With his almost 20″ (50 cm) from head to toe, JOSHI has the perfect size for hugging and cuddling. The bear pattern is also perfect for sewing a memory bear to create a keepsake of the one you love. To sew JOSHI, you should have sewing experience and 4-5 hours of time.
Using JOSHI as a memory bear pattern
Memory bears are sewn from a loved one’s clothing or other fabric of sentimental value. Usually, you make these keepsakes in remembrance of a loved one so that they provide comfort during times of grief. A memory bear can also help ease the pain of missing someone who is not with you at that moment, or simply be a cuddly reminder of the person you love. With our memory bear pattern sewing such a keepsake is explained in great detail, with some useful tips on working with garment als the basic material for the teddy bear.

Embroidering the face of the teddy bear
If you have an embroidery machine, you can use these embroidery files to embroider the facial elements of the teddy bear instead of sewing them as appliqués with a sewing machine or by hand (as described in the sewing instructions). The embroidery files are basically designed for a 4×4″ hoop (10×10 cm) and digitized in the common formats DST, EDR, EXP, HUS, INF, JEF, JEF+, PCS, PES, TAP, VIP, VP3, XXX. After purchase and payment you can download the teddy embroidery files including color charts packed in a .ZIP file. You will also receive an illustrated embroidery instruction as a PDF file.

Patterns pieces itself worked well. The instructions kinda hop all over the place and we’re not as descriptive as store-bought ones. As well as missing certain details. I have a degree in Fashion, so I was able to fill in the blanks that I had questions on. It did turn out cute and I am happy with it.

This is a fabulous pattern with extensive tips and instructions. It also has 3 options for seam allowance, which is extremely useful if you’re sewing with tricky fabrics. I love the embroidered face features, they are soooo cute ☺️ I made mine a hoodie as it is a keepsake for a newborn baby

The bear works up nicely. There is a lot of parts so the instructions are a must. I can usually “wing it” for most sewing projects once I have all the pieces and that is not the case here. I would say intermediate or better for experience level. I love love love the embroidery files for the face so I did not have to mess with the weird plastic eyes. I modified the belly patch to be one piece so I could embroider a saying on it without a center seam. The only thing I was not crazy about is the length of the neck. It seems long. I ended up cutting it down to look more proportionate.

I bought this pattern to make a memory bear for a friend on her birthday. I used bed linen that her grandmother had embroidered for her crib when she was a baby. Linen that she earlier had given to me because she didn’t know what to do with them. She loved the result! ☺️
